The Chemical Brothers will be playing at London’s Olympia, their biggest ever London headline show. This will be the first time any band has played this historic venue in ten years and demonstrates yet again the incredible popularity of the band, both commercially and critically.

The Chemical Brothers have also been nominated for two Grammy Awards. Tom and Ed are up for Best Dance Recording for the single ‘Do It Again’ and for Best Electronic Album/Dance Album for ‘We Are The Night’. The band already have a collection of Grammy Awards, having won in 1998 Best Rock Instrumental for ‘Block Rockin’ Beats’ and in 2005, winning Best Dance Recording for ‘Galvanize’ and Best Electronic/Dance Album for ‘Push The Button’.

2007 has already been a spectacular year for Tom and Ed. It has seen them play an incredible show at Trafalgar Square, headline Glastonbury and Fuji Rock, as well as selling-out three nights at Brixton Academy and playing the Roundhouse in London and playing as part of the BBC’s Electric Proms.

Anna Golden, Special Events Director, EC&O Venues commented: 'We are thrilled to welcome the Chemical Brothers to Olympia as it's the first live gig at the venue since The Cure played in 1992. Over the year's we have had many top music acts play at Earls Court - its renowned with live music as it is the home of the BRIT awards, but its great that we are now bringing live music back to Olympia. The iconic venue is actually featured on their new album cover giving it a direct link to using our venue for their gig. The capacity will be 9,000 and tickets go on sale Wednesday 19th December via our website www.eco.co.uk”
